The Twelve Labors of Hercules
by Cynthia Guerrero de Leon
The story of the dramatic experiences of the great and ancient Son of God, Hercules or Herakles, gives us a picture of the progress of the souls from ignorance to wisdom, from material desire to spiritual achievement. The theme is so inclusive that all of us, struggling in our present modern life, can make application to ourselves of the tests and trials, the failures and achievements of this heroic figure, who strove, centuries ago, towards the same goal as we do.
The astrological interpretation of the twelve labors of Hercules as it relates to Full Moon Meditation has something to do with the lessons every human being who aspires to become a complete self-realized person has to learn. Each labor is associated with each sign of the Zodiac. Each labor symbolizes an aspect of our being that must be worked on and mastered in order to manifest our highest potential.
